Not much is known about the highly talented band TONIC from the Stuttgart area. Their only LP “This Way” was released in 1980 on the Peak label and was recorded at Sypgel Studios in Kirchheim/Teck. Peak was one of the labels owned by Peter Garattoni and Günther Marek, both of whom were musicians with Eulenspygel. As is often the case, Achim Bosch (Sinner, Iris, Sphinx, Floating Opera, etc.) was responsible for the mix. After the release, most of the band members appeared in the group Deepest Province (one album). Only saxophonist Michael Draskowitsch remained active as a session musician on various albums for many years. If you look at fan or collector sites on the Internet about Krautrock and Prog Rock, you will find many words of praise about the highly demanding LP “This Way”. Both form.
